Firefox 4 released for Android – brings Sync history to mobile phone

firefox4 for android releasedMozilla have announced the release of Firefox 4 for Android OS allowing users to “take the power and customization of Firefox everywhere”. Firefox is available from the Android Market and brings seamless and secure access to personal data across desktop and mobile devices, including browsing history, bookmarks, open tabs, form data and passwords.

Tabbed browsing, 3x speed increase and increased customisation are all nice, but the real draw here is the ability to sign in and use Firefox Sync. I’ve long been an avid user of Firefox sync going back to when it was Xmarks, and rely heavily on its ability to sync bookmarks and user logins/passwords across devices. The ability to make sue of those features on an Androind tablet like the Galaxy Tab would be invaluable and save having to remember individual sign-ons for multiple websites.

Android/Maemo: Android has a lot of great browser alternatives, but today Mozilla released the final version of Firefox 4 Mobile, which brings tabbed browsing, add-ons, and serious synchronization power to your phone.
