“Brit “It” Bag” brand The Cambridge Satchel Company is set to star in the new Google Chrome ad that will be promoted extensively in digital media, TV and Cinema starting this weekend. The Cambridge Satchel Company produces a version of the popular school satchel children used to use after finding it impossible to locate one.
Founded with just £600 Julie Dean began the business from her home, stating that the internet (and presumably Google) was crucial to the start-up of her business as it helped her find leather suppliers and a factory to produce the satchels. She also made heavy use of social promotion by sending many satchels to prominent internet bloggers for review. Julie has now grown her business to selling in more than 100 countries, and has a turnover heading towards £10m this year.
“Google selected The Cambridge Satchel Company for the amazing entrepreneurial spirit of its founder Julie Deane and the success of the brand whose premium leather satchels have become a wardrobe staple for fashion lovers all over the world. “
