EDF Energy has launched a UK-First app for the iPhone which will allow its customers to submit meter readings – using the camera in their smart phones.
The feature allows customers to take a photo of any electricity or gas meter in their property with their smart phone and submit the image directly to EDF Energy.
Their energy account will be automatically updated which will ensure they are being billed correctly based on their level of actual usage rather than on estimates.

We know how busy many people are, so we’ve developed the Photo-Meter functionality to make it as easy as possible for customers to submit meter readings for their electricity and gas meters in just a few seconds. It’s another step towards our goal to help people feel better about their energy, and comes hot on the heels of our Blue +Price Promise tariffs which have really stepped away from the industry norm, providing customers with a feel better choice.
