Samsung has today announced that the Galaxy S III smartphone has achieved 20 million unit sales in just 100 days since its debut in May 2012.
With its massive 4.8-inch 720p display, a powerful 1.4Ghz quad-core processor the Galaxy S III was a near instant hit, and despite the recent Apple v Samsung trial people are still buying them in their droves.
The numbers mean that the phone has set a new record, generating sales quicker than any of its predecessors.
JK Shin, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics said:
The GALAXY S III has enjoyed tremendous attention and popularity since its launch in May, and we are thrilled with its success. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to customers who have chosen the GALAXY S III. We will never stop providing the latest smart mobile technologies to help users live a life extraordinary.
